Centralized Computer Network
- A centralized computer network is a network in which a central host
computer performs data processing and storage on behalf of client. This
network provides high performance and centralized management, but it is
also expensive to implement. The clients only connect to the server and
not to each other. This network is also called host based network.
- In the centralized computer network, the clients use the resources
of high-capacity servers to process information. In this network, the
clients are also referred to as dumb terminals with very low or no
processing capability.
