What is Record?

A record is information about a specific event, thing, product, or person.  A record can have many information under separate heading called fields.

• For instance, a student record could consist of the student's name, address, class, telephone etc. A record corresponds row in a physical database.

• A record is a set of information about a particular entity. The row or record of table is also called tuple.
