What is Node, Host, Terminal, Workstation?
- Node:
- A node is any device connected to a computer network. Nodes can be
computers, personal digital assistants (PDAs), cell phones, or various
other network appliances.
- Host computer:
- The most powerful type of computer on the network, that does all the processing for the user.
- Terminal:
- It is device that allows to send commands to a computer somewhere
else. At a minimum, this usually means a keyboard and a display screen
and some simple circuitry.
- Workstation:
- It is a personal computers on network that is operated by network
users. Each workstation process its own files using its own operating
system.
