A boot sector virus is one that infects the first sector, i.e. the boot
sector, of a floppy disk or hard drive. Boot sector viruses modifies the
MBR and infects the information system during the start-up process. It
tends to create bad sector of the disk.

- C-Brain, Stone, Disk Killer, Danish boot, Devel 941 etc.
